More information on the residency studio space: We are looking for applications that demonstrate clear, achievable goals and a genuine enthusiasm towards the prospect of sharing their creative practice with members of the North East inner city community This opportunity is open to all creative professionals – artists, designers, writers, dancers, theatre producers etcĪll applicants must submit a six-month project proposal in addition to a community engagement proposal that they can successfully facilitate during their residency period The purpose of this Residency Award is to facilitate the development of a creative practice whilst fostering constructive engagement with the North East Inner City community The chosen winner will be contacted via email before July 2nd Proposals will be acknowledged by an automatic message after application is submitted Proposals must be submitted via the online form on our website only – emailed applications will not be accepted Promotion of your project development via our social media channels and on our websiteĪpplicants must identify a local group or an aspect of the local community that they aim to approach in order to deliver some form of socially engaged activity during their residencyĬonsider how the residency offerings will directly aid you to complete or significantly develop your project proposal and how the award will benefit your practice as a wholeĮxperience self-initiating and facilitating workshops or some form of socially engaged activity would be a distinct bonusįeasibility of the proposed project(s) within the timeframe of the residency You will receive a €800 materials bursary This engagement could take a variety of forms, a once off workshop, an online series of classes or perhaps your own practice is informed by community outreach and therefore some form of social engagement will take place throughout the duration of your residencyīefore applying, we ask that you consider a project that can be achieved or significantly developed during your six months working from a dedicated studio space at D-Light StudiosĪ free, dedicated studio space filled with natural light for the duration of the residency beginning July 5th 2021 – December 31st 2021ĭuring the residency you will have the option to use our large multi-purpose space, Studio A (and/or any other of our available studio spaces should they become available), up to a maximum of 8 days in total – to be scheduled with D-LS management (not to be used for any events) How exactly is up to you, but an important part of this programme is for the recipient to initiate meaningful interaction with a local community group ![]() We are looking for an individual or collective interested in incorporating socially engaged activities into their practice and would be excited about the prospect of facilitating some form of creative community engagement during the residency.
